What can you expect when you engage Work/Life?Individual clientsThe first interaction is usually a brief, 30-minute conversation over the phone or in my office, simply to determine if we are a good fit. When you are ready, we set an initial 50-minute appointment and get started. Local clients can choose office or phone sessions, while long distance clients work over the phone and through e-mail. Working with me will be like therapy in that it’s an intense, conversationally focused process. It will differ from therapy in that it is very practically oriented, focused primarily on the here and now. During our sessions together, my job is to ask you questions and provide ways to learn about yourself, mechanisms to explore the lay of the land, and tools to make things happen. Between appointments, I usually assign some ‘homework’ – something to read, someone to talk with, or something specific to think about. You will leave the process armed with information and tools to use the next time you are ready to make a transition. |
